Mary E. Battko, 79, formally of Davey Hill Rd., Pittsfield, departed this world to be with her loving husband, Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at the Rouse Warren Co. Home.

    She was born November 2, 1933 on York Hill in Youngsville.  Mary worked as a temp for the Warren Co. School District in the cafeteria for many years. She then went to the Rouse Warren Co. Home and worked in the dietary dept. until her retirement.  She was a former member of St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church Ladies Auxiliary, a Cub Scout Leader for many years, and enjoyed playing bingo.  Mary’s greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

   She is survived by her 3 children, Christopher (Vonnie) Battko of Pittsfield, Pamela (Scott) Hollabaugh of Garland, Jeffery Battko of Pittsfield,  sister, Martha Irene Burroughs of Erie, and  a brother Jim Logren of Warren,  grandchildren,  Jamie Vargason,  Amanda Battko, Ginger Johnson, Zachary Battko, Heather Battko, Glenn Mumford, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and In-Laws.

   She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Battko Jr., who passed away on February 22, 2008, 2 sisters, Ann Harkins and Eva Hoffman and a brother Clarence Buchanan.
A memorial service will be held on Friday (December 28) at 2:00 pm at the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services 314 N. Main St. in Youngsville. The Rev. Marcus Briggs, Chaplain of the Rouse Warren Co. Home will officiate.

    In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Friends of the Rouse, 701 Rouse Ave, Youngsville, Pa. 16371.  Condolences to the family may be made at www.nelsonfuneralhome.net.

I'm sorry about the death of your mom. In her time at the Rouse, the
Catholic Church ministered to her needs. She was brought to Mass and
to the Communion Services every Wednesday of the month. I will offer
a Mass for her soul in the near future. Again, my sympathies on your loss.

Dear Chris, Jeff and Pam ,
So sorry to hear about Aunt Mary..I have so many wonderful memories of staying summers with her and Uncle Bill when I was small...and also all the family get togethers at my parents..
She was a kind, strong woman...I will miss her....

Iam so sorry to hear aunt Mary passed away. And im thankfull for the time that i had with her .She always had time for us kids ,No matter how old we got ,And she always seemed to have a smile even when we got water or mud on the floor .You all are in my prayers .

We are so sorry to hear of your loss. I knew Mary from working at the Rouse Home. She was a wonderful woman, always offering a nice smile and a kind word. She will be greatly missed, but will exist in all of you hearts.

Dear Jeff, Chris & Pam.So sad to loose your mom She was a special person. We had alot of good times. We will miss her. I wanted to be there for you but I am realy sick with a bad cold. I don"t want to spread it to others. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Jim &family also.
