Dennis Bee Jr. Obituary

Dennis E. Bee Jr., 81, of Tidioute, PA , passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on August 18, 1942, a son to the late Dennis E. Bee Sr. and Katherine (Yakel) Bee. After graduating high school, Denny served in the US Air Force as Staff Sergeant IntcpOps/AnalSpec (Special Intelligence). He traveled to Germany, Italy, Crete, Turkey and his favorite, Alaska.

After he was honorably discharged, he graduated with an accounting degree from Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh. After a few years with Loftus Engineering in Pittsburgh, he decided to move to Tidioute. He became the Deerfield Township secretary/treasurer and held the titles for 34 years while also working for Coates Way and Anderson CPA Firm for a few years. Denny then started his wonderful career at United Refining Company in Warren as Vice President Treasurer for 32 years, retiring in 2009.

Denny was an avid fisherman, thanks to his aunt Ethel Smith (The Tidioute River Rat), who had convinced him to move to Tidioute. He loved the Allegheny River and lakes, catching many pike, muskie and his favorite, walleye. He enjoyed going to Canada in the summer and also in the winter to ice fish for big walleye. He also enjoyed hunting deer and turkey and vacationing at Outer Banks NC for steamed shrimp and beer at Awful Arthurs. He loved the beach with brown pelicans above and the ocean waves for hours with a good suspense book.

He married Leann in 1995 who in his own words, “changed my life for the better, an Angel to me and my family, thank you for loving us”. Denny was truly an amazing family man who adored his children and grandchildren. He was very kind and humble and would help others along the way. He always had a positive attitude and smile while walking into cardiac rehab with his friends for heart class. He was a man of integrity.

Denny survived by his loving wife, Leann (Apicella) Bee; his children, Dennis Bee III of Erie and Jessica Bee of Warren; his granddaughters, Bailey Roudybush and Charlette Bee; his sister in law, Lois Bee, brother in law, Jim Apicella and his nephews, Don and Todd Bee.

In addition to his parents, Denny was preceded in death by his first wife, Jane (McMorris) Bee and a brother, Donald F. Bee.

Per Denny’s wishes, no services will be held.
