Dorothy Dyke, 103, passed away on Thursday June 11, 2020 at the Rouse Warren Co. Home after a brief stay. She had resided at the Rouse Suites for the past two years and prior to that lived in her home in Lottsville for almost 80 years.

She was born April 16, 1917 to the late Leslie and Amanda Allen and married Ernest Dyke on August 20, 1938, who passed away on November 21, 1985.

She was the “cafeteria lady” at the former Lottsville Elem. School until its closing and after that was employed at the former New Process Co. for several years until her retirement. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Monday Night Ladies Bowling League at the Sugar Grove Bowling Lanes from their opening to closing. She also enjoyed going to antique tractor pulling, puzzles, watching her grandchildren’s sporting events, crocheting. Making many afghans for family members and family beach trips.
She was a very independent lady and could be seen mowing her lawn and working in her flower beds as well as driving well into her 90’s. She was a former member of the Berea Lutheran Church, and most recently attended the Lottsville United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son James Dyke, her daughter, Barbara (Barney) Alexander, grandchildren- Matt (Wendy) Alexander, Jeri Graham, Jimmy (Lori) Dyke, John (Micki) Dyke, all of the Lottsville area, granddaughters, Joanna (Mike) Fehlman of Youngsville and Amy (James) Hedstrom of Rock Hill, SC, several great and great great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Allen and William Allen, a sister, Dora Gustafson, a daughter-in-laws, Ruth Dyke and Donna Dyke.

A private funeral service will be held at the Wrightsville United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Lottsville Cemetery. The family suggests memorial donations may be made to the Wrightsville Vol. Fire Dept. 1404 Bull Hill Rd. Pittsfield, Pa. 16340.
