Donald A. McNitt, 57, of 578 College St., Youngsville, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2012 at the Rouse Warren Co. Home.

He was born January 11, 1955 a son of the Late Wanda Arnold McNitt, who passed away in February of 2009, and Donald G. McNitt , who survives him of Youngsville. Don was a Vietnam War Veteran, serving in the US Navy. He was a member of the Iron Workers and also worked as a carpenter.  He was a member of the Youngsville and Warren American Legions, enjoyed playing baseball, woodworking and was known to always lend a helping hand to his family and friends whenever needed.

In addition to his father, Don is survived by a daughter, Denise (Ryan) Salvi of Roanoke VA,  2 sisters, Barbara (James) Bergman of Ashville, NY, Karen (Ed) Hile of Graham, NC, 3 grandsons, James-Ryan, Cole and Dylan Salvi and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother on October of 2011.

A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Youngsville on Wednesday (May 23) at 12:00 p.m. with the Rev John Gerber, pastor, officiating.  Friends will be received 1 hour prior to the service.  Burial will be in the Blockville Cemetery in NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Hospice of Warren Co., 2 Crescent Park, Warren, Pa., 16365. The Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 314, N. Main St., in Youngsville, have been entrusted with arrangements.  Condolences to the family may be made at www.nelsonfuneralhome.net.
