Ruth E. (Jordan) Moniak, 89, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, at Golden Living
Center in Warren, where she had resided for four-and-a-half months. She
was born Oct. 6, 1921, to Emory and Genevieve Mitchell Jordan. Ruth
married Anthony (Tony) Moniak on July 29, 1939, in Irvine. Together,
they built their own home in Youngsville in 1955 and lived there until
Tony’s death on Sept. 2, 2003. They were married for 64 years.
Ruth was a devoted wife and mother, cooking and cleaning with a passion!
She went to work outside of the home in 1964, working at Sylvania and
Blair for 20 years. After they retired, Ruth and Tony enjoyed daily
walks around the Youngsville area. They traveled several times to
California, driving in 1988. They also visited Hawaii and wintered in
Florida. Ruth was an avid reader and was proud of her children,
grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was easy to get along with
and was deeply loved by her family, friends and caregivers at Golden
Living. She will be missed by many.
Ruth is survived by a son, Bill (Judi) Moniak of San Diego, Calif., and
a daughter, Sharon Persing of Warren. She has nine grandchildren: Kellie
(Tom) Blasco and Shannon (Jon) Sitler of Warren, and Mark Moniak,
Matthew (Heather) Moniak, Christine (Dave) Hops, Kimberly (Brian)
Miller, Susan (Trevor) Haywood, Patricia (John) Morris, and Julie (Bill)
Gage, all of California. She also has 18 great-grandchildren with number
19 due to arrive in May 2011. Ruth is also survived by five sisters,
Joyce Russell, Autumn Goldsmith, Lois Inter, Lenore Schepper, and Sally
(Don) Frank, and four brothers, Dick (Phyllis) Jordan, Jim Jordan, Bob
(Chris) Jordan, and Cork (Lynn) Jordan, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by
eight siblings, Marge Kibbey, Jean Briggs, Janet Frank, and Chuck,
Howard, Shirley, Carol, and Buddy Jordan, and one daughter-in-law,
Harriet Wilamowski Moniak.
Friends will be received in the gathering space at St. Luke’s Roman
Catholic Church, Youngsville, at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, followed by
a memorial Mass celebrating Ruth's life at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Father
John Neff, pastor, as Celebrant.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to
Hospice of Warren County, 2 Crescent Park Warren, Pa. 16365, or to St.
Luke’s Roman Catholic Church, 420 N. Main St., Youngsville, Pa. 16371.

Sharon and Bill I am sorry for your loss. Your mother was a very nice person, always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone, and she had a long and full life. She will be missed. I will keep her, you, and your families in my prayers.

Bill and Sharon,
My deepest symphony to both of you. I always loved meeting your mother when I was out and about. She always had a good story to share. She was always so full of life, we all should be like her, she lived life to the fullest. (Like all the Jordans I've met.)

Tom and Jackie Baker
To all the Moniak and Jordan families: Our prayers are with you and yours! Our families go back together a lot of years! Much love IN JESUS NAME from Tom and Jackie Baker down here in Linden. Alabama
