Denise L. Mitchell, 36 of Grant St., Warren, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday February 21, 2015 at the Warren General Hospital.

Denise was born January 25, 1979 in Warren, Pa., a daughter to the late Dennis L. Jordan and Durinda Darling, who survives her of Youngsville. She was a 1997 graduate of Youngsville High School and then went on to earn her associate degree at J.C.C. Business College in business administrative information technology.  Denise was an avid Motley Crue fan.  She claimed to be their “biggest fan”, and had the opportunity to go on 2 Motley Crue Cruises and meet the band. She also was a huge WWE fan and her favorite wrestler was Triple H. Denise’s greatest passion though, was her support to our Troops. She was married to Sgt. Sean Mitchell who was killed in action during the Iraq War.  After that, she devoted much of her time to supporting our troops, by organizing and shipping boxes of necessities to the troops overseas. She was also a major supporter to the Wounded Warrior Project.  Any support she could give to our troops and veterans, she did.  To know Denise, you would know of her big giving heart.  This especially showed with her love of animals.  No stray cat or dog went unfed in her neighborhood. She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her brother Dustin (Barbie) Jordan of Youngsville, her sister Tahme Ling of Jamestown, her companion Shannon Giffen of Warren, grandmother, Kaye Wood of Binghamton, N.Y, a half-sister, Peggy Jordan of Orlando, Fla, and a half- brother, Bruce Cash of North Carolina, her beloved Pomeranian, Tasha and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandfather, Richard Wood and her step- father Edwin “Bob” Darling.

Friends and family may call on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 314 North Main St. in Youngsville.  A funeral service will be held there on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the chaplain Dave Mariner, family friend, officiating.  Burial will follow at Warren Co. Memorial Park.

The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.org or to the Warren Co. Humane Society, 212 Elm St. Warren, Pa. 16365. Condolences to the family may be made at www.nelsonfuneralhome.net.

Durinda, Tahme, & Dustin, You have our deepest condolences on the loss of your beautiful Denise. She was one of a kind. I'll not forget when we first met at Downunder and did karaoke. She was a very likeable girl, and I am so sorry for her early passing. May you one day find fond memories and cherish treasured moments in your heart to replace the sadness and sorrow you now feel. Peace and comforting thoughts to you all.

We are so very sorry about your loss. Denise was such a very friendly girl who always took time to acknowledge you and just always made you feel like you mattered. When she worked at Fashion Big in Warren I would take my mom in shopping and Denise was always so willing to help in anyway she could . I will truly miss seeing her out and about, RIP Denise and God Bless.

Durinda and family,

I was surprised to hear of Denises' passing. I am so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine what you are going through but know Denise brought a lot of laughs into our lives. When she would come to visit Deena she always did her Elvis impression for me. She always stopped to chat when I would see her out and about. My thoughts are with you and your family at this very sad time. Dee

this is not how I wanted to leave my condolences I wanted to be there in person however I would not be able to make the drive in time. I have so many memories of Denise and all of you that I have no idea where to even begin. As you already know Denise was a one of a kind, kindhearted, nonjudgmental, beautiful, honest, and most caring person. She reached out to me when my father passed and helped me through it and I so appreciated her for that. She will truly be missed by everyone that knew her, I will never forget her. If you guys need anything I'm here for you, do not hesitate.
