Janet McDonell, 80, of Race St., Sugar Grove, passed away Wednesday August 3, 2016 at the Warren General Hospital.

Janet was born June 28, 1936 in Warren, a daughter to the late Floyd and Frances “Snip” Hamilton Robbins. She was the widow of Clayton McDonell, who preceded her in death on July 12, 2015. Janet and Clayton lived in Michigan for a period of time and then moved back to the area  in 1996.

She was a member of the AMVETs club in Sugar Grove.  She loved cooking, decorating her home, knitting, sewing and spending time with her family.
Janet is survived by her 4 children: Debbie (Jerry) Carlson of Cadiz, OH, Brian Brennen of Sugar Grove, Kim (Randy) Root of Highland, Michigan, and Kelly Hartley of Bemus Point, N.Y., her brother, Alan “Stub” Robins and his wife Bonnie Lee of Sugar Grove, a sister, Bonnie Jo Robbins of Pittsfield, 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a niece Jody Blackmer.

Friends may call on Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services 314 North Main St. in Youngsville, and for one hour prior to  a funeral service that will be held there on Saturday at 11 am.  Burial will be in the Lottsville Cemetery.

Because of Janet’s love for animals, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Paws Along the River Humane Society, 212 Elm St. Warren, Pa. 16371. Condolences to the family may be made at www.nelsonfuneralhome.net.
