Ashley Elizabeth Mead (the iii), loving mother, daughter, sister and friend, was taken from this world February 12, 2017. Though she is no longer here to pass on her vibrant smile, she will forever be remembered by the light she left in everyone she ever touched.

Ashley was born on November 14, 1992 in Warren, PA and brought warmth to the coolness of fall. She colored this world a splash of brilliance everywhere she went. Ashley is survived by her parents Edward Mead, Warren, Claudia Bunce and step-father Douglas Craday, Youngsville, all of whom experienced a loss no parent should ever have to face; her siblings; Allison Mead, Kacie (Jamie) Mead-Crick, a special cousin Kylie (Seither) Ladhani; Step-Siblings, Meagan (Joshua Howard) Craday, Kayce Craday, Shane Craday and Brandon Baker; many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. She is also survived by two step grandmothers, Barbara J. Poorman and Judith Bensink Craday.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Garry and Gizella (Gyulai) Bunce, her paternal grandparents Ralph F. and Dorothy (Smith) Mead and two step grandfathers, Billy J. Craday and Richard Poorman.

Ashley’s daughter, Winter Daisy Mead, will grow up to know of just how much her mommy cherished her and how her birth formed Ashley into the amazing person she was. Becoming a mother changed Ashley’s life, she loved it more than anything and thrived at it. Her free, colorful and shining spirit will flow through this world with every gust of wind, every wave that splashes the shore, every flower that blooms on the mountain and every music note sang. She was the best mother, daughter, friend and sister. We will love you forever and miss your beaming gap-tooth smile every day.

She loved to travel and had visited 42 states and Canada and Mexico. She studied liberal arts in NYC,  attended Centenary College and LSU in Shreveport. She was planning on doing graduate studies at Colorado State University in Boulder, CO. She had published 2 poetry books, loved nature and the outdoors and had a fond love of dogs.

Ashley wanted to make the world a better place and keep the environment beautiful. So, please plant a flower in her memory and think of her peace, love and empathy. Two of her favorite music lyrics, “ We’re gonna stay eighteen forever, so we can stay like this forever” and “The good things will live in our hearts, Always up or down, never down and out”.

A benefit is being held Today Saturday, April 1st at the St. Paul’s Center at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church in Sheffield from 1:00pm - 7:00pm. Claudia,
You and your family have been in my thoughts and prayers. No words can truly express how sorry I am for your loss. I hope that God will bring you comfort and peace during this tragic time. My son, Joshua, told me that he used to "party" with Ashley when they were in high school. What a small world. Sending hugs your way.

Claudia, I remember Ashley well, as a child and as a mother, coming to Warren Pediatrics.
She was a sweet girl who showed her unique individuality and flair. You were such a good mom and were an inspiration to me.
May God grant her eternal rest and may He comfort you in your grief.
