Thomas Tobias Buser Jr., 73, of Tidioute, PA, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2018 at his home.

He was born July 2, 1945 in Titusville, PA, a son to the late Thomas T. Buser Sr. and Kathleen D. (Driscoll) Buser. Tom was a 1963 graduate of St. Joseph Academy and worked for Loranger for many years as a purchasing agent. His true passion was fishing the region's trout streams; he loved both the challenge and the solitude of the sport. He was a dedicated, lifelong member of Trout Unlimited.

Tom is survived by two sons, David A. (Amy) Buser and Matthew C. (Lee Susan) Buser; a sister, Melanie B. (Norm) Kibbey of Grand Valley, PA; his grandchildren, Benjamin, Madeleine, and Vivienne Buser; three nephews, Jim (Debbi) Beck, David (Lisa) Beck, and Kevin (Karen) Beck; and a number of great-nieces and nephews. He spent much of his final years in the comfort and care of Shelley, a close and trusted friend of Tom and family.

Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 from 10:00-11:00AM at the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 314 North Main Street, Youngsville, PA 16371. A private burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations may be made to the Cornplanter Chapter of Trout Unlimited, 79 Buena Vista Blvd., Warren, PA 16365.

Mellie, honestly just last Monday Don Rog and I were driving back from a daytrip to NY State on our way home to Tionesta, and passed Tom’s home in Tidioute. We stopped and knocked on the door, hoping to say hello, but no one answered. I am deeply saddened to learn of Tom’s passing. While we all grew up a few doors from each other, Carl, Russ, Pam and I have fond memories of our childhood on Titusville’s south side, and Bloss St. We send sincere condolences to you and your family. I am so sorry to hear of Tom's passing, and for your loss. We went to school together and he was always such a nice, friendly guy. I now live in FL so hadn't seen him for awhile, but will always have nice memories of him and will keep you all in my prayers to get through this sad time.
