Logan Wesley Morrison, 22, of Sugar Grove, PA lost his battle with PTSD on November 17, 2018.

Logan was born May 1, 1996 in Warren, PA.  He was a 2014 graduate of Youngsville High School and enlisted in the US Navy after graduation.  While in the Navy, he worked as a Coxswain, a boat pilot/instructor, and a search and rescue swimmer traveling around the world including Central America. He helped with the hurricane relief efforts in Puerto Rico, Haiti and the Virgin Islands attaining  the rank of Boatswain 3rd Class.  While in the service he earned the following awards, Expert 9MM pistol, Marksman M16/M4 Rifle, Navy/Mc Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, GW-Terrorism Medal and the Humanitarian Service Medal. He was a true American Hero and was honorably discharged on August 1, 2018. Logan was about anything outdoors. One of his true passions was rock climbing, a sport that he got is whole family involved with. They had dreamed of traveling and climbing all over the world, in places like Yosemite. Hunting, golfing, swimming, baseball, kayaking and so many others, were hobbies he also enjoyed. But spending time with his family and friends, was one of his favorite things to do!  He was currently employed at A&B Heating in Warren.

Logan is survived by his parents, Tammy (John) (Hendrickson) Johnson of Youngsville and Lane Morrison and his companion Crystal Kreitzbender of Sugar Grove, his 2 brothers, Nick (Vanessa) Humphrey of Youngsville and Cole Morrison of Sugar Grove, sisters, Chelsey Morrison, Madilynn and Allyson Johnson, all of Youngsville, Maternal grandparents, Sandy and Steve Ostrander of Summerville, S.C, Dean and Lisa Hendrickson of Warren, and John (Caroline) Johnson of Youngsville; Paternal grandparents, Jo Ann Singas of Youngsville and Rocky Morrison of Sugar Grove, his niece Vaida Humphrey and soon to be born nephew, Nash Humphrey, many aunts, uncles, cousins and his American Bully and faithful companion, Axel.

Logan was preceded in death by his grandfather Denny Knapp and an Uncle Eric Hendrickson.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 4-7pm at the Youngsville Free Methodist Church 179 Davis St., in Youngsville, at which a funeral service will be held there at 7pm with the Rev. Rick Hamrick, pastor, officiating.  Members of Logan’s Navy Detail, along with the Youngsville American Legion Honor Guard, will provide full military honors at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family strongly suggests memorial donations may be made to the Warren Co. Veterans Emergency Fund, Warren Co. Veteran Affairs Office c/o Ed Burris 240 4th Ave. Warren, PA 16365 or to the Boots on Ground, 1611 Peach St. Erie, Pa. 16501

To the Morrison Family I send my deepest condolences and I pray that the lord gives you peace during this time of grief. I had the opportunity to work with Logan in various operations over the past few years and he delivered excellent results every time with no complaints and a smile. Being in the military for a little over 25 years it’s hard to stay motivated even for us salty dogs and we second guess and contemplate on staying in or getting out. But it is Sailors like Logan who inspire, motivate, and keep us going, and give us true meaning to why we choose to continue to serve.
May God bless you and your family!

Lane, Jo, and Morrison family, our hearts have been heavy ever since we heard of Logan’s passing. He was such a sweetheart and so full of life. I remember him being quite the athlete when we played volleyball up on the hill. I know he always held a special place in daddy’s heart! Daddy was so proud the day Logan came up and shot his first deer. I got a call that night and it was literally all he could talk about! We love you guys and we will keep you in our prayers during this difficult time.
