Nancy Arlene Balling , 78, formerly of Jamestown,  passed away on December 5, 2018 and went home to be with her father in heaven.  

She was born May 13, 1940 in Jamestown, New York to the late Leon and Lucille (Petit) Balling.  Nancy grew up on the family farm at Stedman, New York, near Chautauqua and she graduated from Chautauqua Central School in 1958 as class valedictorian.  At school she played clarinet in the band and sang in the choir.  She earned her Degree in microbiology from the University of Buffalo. She worked in cancer research at Veterans Hospital in Buffalo for 11 years. Beginning in 1974 she was a Real estate broker and owned HC McCormick Real Estate and later Rainbow Reality of the Western New York. She moved to Youngsville in 2008 and into the Rouse Home in 2014. She helped with the youth group at the First United Methodist Church in Youngsville and she enjoyed fixings snacks. At the Rouse Home she enjoyed bird watching, playing piano, talking with residents and staff, and also enjoyed helping to take care of Rouse aquarium. Nancy really enjoyed all the different musical events the Rouse provided.

Nancy is survived by her brother, Ronald Balling of Youngsville and a niece Amanda.

Friends will be received on Wednesday December 12, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church 225 Main St. in Youngsville from 2-4 pm, at which time a memorial service will be held with the Rev. Jeff Canter, pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in the Panama Cemetery.
