Eugene “Gene” R. Hetrick, 80, Hemlock Road of Warren, passed away at home on May 14, 2019, after an extended illness.

Gene was born on January 23, 1939,  in Elk Lick, PA. to Roy and Violet Tressler Hetrick. He served in the US Army, upon completion of his service, he worked as a mechanic, and later owned his own business, GH Waterpumping. He was a member of the Warren American Legion. Gene loved to travel with his family, and to hunt and fish with friends. He was an excellent cook and was known for making delicious soups, and for singing in the kitchen. Gene was well-known as a man who was always willing to help a person in need.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Blaine, Dale, Lonnie and Duane Hetrick and a step-son Robert Miller.

Gene is survived by his loving wife, Mary Clark Hetrick, whom he married on May 24, 1985; sons, Wade Hetrick, Eugene(Betty) Hetrick Jr.,; Step-Daughters,  Amy(Andy) Kuppertz, Barbara(Harold) Farmer, Kay (Bruce) Jackson, a sister Holly (Floyd) Hutzell of Salsbury, Pa.; many grand-children and great grand-children, nieces and nephews, and his faithful companion, his black lab, Duke.

A private memorial service will be held at the convenience the family.

The family suggests memorial donations be made to Hospice of Warren County,  Crescent Park, Warren, PA. 16365; Paws Along the River, 212 Elm St. Warren, PA.,16365, and the Salvation Army, 311 Beech St., Warren, PA 16365.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We wre extremely blessed to have had such a wonderful man as Gene touch our lives. He will be sadly missed and thought of fondly often. God Bless.
