Roy C. Withington, 80, of Youngsville, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born August 29, 1939, on Indian Camp Run Road in Brokenstraw Twp., to the late Harvey and Edna (Olson) Withington. He graduated from Youngsville High School in 1957. He worked at the National Forge Steel Co. in the Mechanical Maintenance Department retiring in 2000 after 38 years of service. He was a member of the Saron Lutheran Church where he served on the Church Council and Property Committee. He served as a board member of the Youngsville Cemetery for 25 years. He was also on the Youngsville Recreation Committee for many years. Roy was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed working on and repairing his old Ford Tractors. He also enjoyed watching football, especially the Buffalo Bills. Roy was a very fun loving person who always liked to have a good time, laughing and teasing with those around him. He was helpful to everyone, always willing to lend a hand in a time of need.

Roy is survived by his wife Sandra (Galbraith) Withington, whom he married on November 8, 1991, at the Saron Lutheran Church. He is also survived by two daughters, Debra (Brian) Sperry of Youngsville and Diane Lachner of Youngsville, a son, Dennis (Ronda) Withington of Pollocksville, N.C.,  a sister, Helen Larson of Kane, a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Kuzmin of Pittsfield, his mother-in-law, Martha Galbraith of Mechanicsburg, Pa. and his grandchildren, Shawn Withington, Jacob Sperry, Jessica, Kaitlyn, and Jeremy Lachner.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Susan Johnson, whom he married on September 19, 1959 and died on July 15, 1988; three sisters, Mildred Withington, Mary Merenick, and Ruth Hallberg, his brothers, John Withington and Clarence Withington and grandson, Robbie Withington who passed away on March 20, 2018.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place in the Youngsville Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Saron Lutheran Church, 148 W. Main St, Youngsville, PA 16371 and the Youngsville Cemetery Association, PO Box 103, Youngsville, PA 16371.

I am sending my sympathies to Roy's family. I got to know Roy when we were on the Cemetery Board together. if I had questions, he was the one I contacted and I got to know him better that way. Debbie, Denny and Diane, I know you'll miss your father and I extend my condolences to you. Remember and cherish the good times with him.
