Mary Jo Hanson Fill, 87, of Corry, Pa, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2020 at the Corry Manor.

She was born June 7, 1933 in Corry, a daughter to the late Glenn and Katherine (Hoff) Hepler Sr. After the death of her father, Mary Jo resided at “Mooseheart Child City and School” in Illinois for 8 years. She graduated from there in 1952 with a cosmetology certificate. After graduation she returned to Corry and worked for several barbers and salons until beginning work at Quiet Acres Nursing Home and then the Corry Hospital retiring in 1998.

Mary Jo was a member of the West Spring Creek Congregational Church where she was a Ladies Aid, a past officer of the Corry Moose Lodge and also an originator of the WSCC annual leek dinner held in Spring Creek. She enjoyed socializing with family and friends, canning and gardening. Mary Jo was a great cook, however after retirement she would often say “I hope there are no kitchens in ‘the sky’”.

She is survived by her children, Dan Hajec of Corry, Tim Hajec and his wife, Stephanie, of Corry, Tom Hajec of Youngsville, Kirk Hanson of Corry and Kathy Komenda and her husband, Stan, of Corry; her grandchildren, Zachery Hajec, Kayla Woodworth, Tyler Hajec, Riley Hajec, Rachel Hajec, Tanner Hanson, Cameron Hanson, Chad Hajec and Evan Hajec, all of Corry; her great-grandchildren, Simon Hanson and Danika Pilling and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Hanson, whom she married in 1961 and died in 1995 and her second husband, Edward Fill, whom she married in 1998 and died in 2010. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Glenn Hepler Jr., Ralph Hepler and Jeanette Bolan and a daughter-in-law, Debbie Woodworth Hajec.

Due to Covid-19, there will be no services held and burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial donations may be made to the West Spring Creek Congregational Church, PO Box 115, Corry, Pa 16407.

The Nelson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, in Youngsville, have been entrusted with all arrangements. Condolences to the family may be made at
