Randal Sliter, 67, of Youngsville, passed away peacefully on March 3rd, 2021 at the John and Orpha Blair Hospice House in Warren.

He was born July 31, 1953 to the late Marvin and Betty (Groves) Sliter. Randy grew up in Chandlers Valley and graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1971. He graduated from Alfred University in 1975 with a degree in Environmental Science. He then went on to work as an Environmental Engineer in Brockway, Pa. In his later years, he worked as an Electrician doing electrical inspections in the area.

Randy was a member of the Northern Allegheny Conservation Association, where he served on the board for a number of years. He was an avid bird lover and enjoyed bird watching all of his life. Every year he participated in the annual bird count in Warren County. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Randy enjoyed the outdoors; he liked hunting, fishing and canoeing with his friends. He also loved music and playing the guitar.

He is survived by his daughters, Lacey (Rodney) Rowland of Warren and Courtney Sliter of Pittsfield, his grandchildren, Laynah and Jeremy Grant Rowland and Cameron Wightman, a step-grandson, Spencer Rowland, a sister, Nancy (Ivan) Johnson of Sugar Grove, a brother-in-law, Jerry Trask of Frewsburg, NY, a sister-in-law, Linda Moore of Warren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by his son, Jeremy Sliter, his sister, Janet Trask and two brothers, Robert and Daniel Sliter.

Honoring Randy's request, no services will be held.

I so hope you got to see the rare Cardinal spotted in Warren County Randy. I'll miss our dust-ups about the speed of a sparrow, and depends on which one of course ha. RIP man.

I served on the NACA board and the Christmas Bird Count with Randy for many years. He will be sadly missed.

Randy was a friend in high school, but we lost touch after. I remember him as witty, the class cut-up, fun to hang out with, and a pretty good golfer. Sorry for your loss. RIP Randy.
