Posted by: Dale Pratz Tue March 02, 2021 | There are no words to communicate the sorrow the loss of such a great Matriarch brings to a family...You are all in my prayers.
I will always remember Aunt Cookie fondly for her great smile and warm and welcoming personality! She was truly a light of love and acceptance! I have no doubt that the re-union at the Pearly Gates was wondrous and that she was met by all those whom she had touched that had gone before her! Love begets Love, and she gave that freely to those around her. My sadness is eclipsed by the fact that I am so happy that she now walks with Jesus and her beloved, Tony! |
Posted by: Cheryl Pratz Tue March 02, 2021 | I can't express how much Aunt Cookie meant to my siblings and I, she and Uncle Tony were always welcoming and loving. Sleepovers in Sugargrove when we were kids, the New Years Eve phone calls in the middle of the night, the family reunions that we were lucky enough to get to, were all just extensions of their love for family and inclusion for all. I am truly sorry for the loss of this wonderful woman, but I rejoice in the knowledge that she is now in the warm embrace of the Lord and is reunited with all her loved ones. I'm sure Uncle Tony was waiting with open arms. |
Posted by: Robert Paul Pratz Tue March 02, 2021 | Mere words cannot convey the depth of my sorrow at the passing of Aunt Cookie. Her presence, along with Uncle Tony and all of the Sugar Grove cousins, was a constant in the years of my young life. Days spent with a roiling, rambunctious, ever-moving horde of children in that unique part of northwest Pennsylvania remain among my most cherished memories. And, always steady and calm at the heart of it all was Cookie; her presence a ready comfort for the inevitable bumps and scrapes and scuffles.
I know that sympathy is pale consolation to a family grieving its matriarch. But, please be certain that my prayers and the prayers of my family go with you all, each day. The cord that binds our larger family runs through a certain white house in Sugar Grove. A home that was open to all; a place I met unquestioning welcome in even after decades of absence. I will mourn your loss. I will mourn our loss. I will mourn the passing of an age... |
