AmyJo Ella Courson, 59, of Starbrick, passed away unexpededly at her home on Thursday, August 25, 2022.
AmyJo was a 1980 graduate of Youngsville High School, where she was an Eagles Cheerleader, which she seemed to never give up, she was still doing her cheers all the time. She was a hard worker, holding many jobs with her most recent employer Blair. She has been a long time member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She lived life to the fullest when she could. She looked forward to nights out, bingo, dancing, and being the life of the party! She was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan and rarely missed watching a game. She enjoyed watching birds come to her feeders, gardening, her plants, and her fish. Oh, we can’t forget one her favorite hobbies, “needing things from the store.” LOL! AmyJo enjoyed getting visitors and people calling her, everyone knows she was a talker! She was such a kind and thoughtful person, striving to help others and make them happy. She was an amazing mother, daughter, sister, and friend and will be remembered a being kind, happy, strong, and caring.
AmyJo is the daughter of Raymond Sr. and Caroline Baker Bower of Youngsville, who survive her. Also surviving are her siblings; Raymond(Marie)Bower Jr of Texas, Diane Bower of Youngsville, and Ralph(Nancy)Bower of Pittsburgh. AmyJo also leaves behind three pretty amazing children (thanks to her!). Virgil Birchard Jr. of Grand Valley, Brandon(Meghan)Morrison of Warren, and Benjamin Birchard of Erie, all who thought the world of their caring mother. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. AmyJo’s whole world were her grandchildren. She was blessed to have 7 of them, Courtney, Madalin, and Skylar Birchard of Tidioute; Arielle Birchard and Everleigh and Brooklyn Morrison of Warren, and Braxton Birchard of Erie.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Margaret Baker; her brother ,Claude Bower; and her dog, Rupert. AmyJo and Claude are up there dancing and being CARELESS!
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday September 10th at 2 pm at the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
