Charles Bimber Obituary

Charles Bimber, 78, of Sugar Grove, PA., passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 9th, 2024 surrounded by family.


He was born on December 13, 1945 to the late LaVerne Bimber and Ina Jane Nuttall. After completing high school, he joined the United States Navy, serving two tours during the Vietnam War. After the service, he returned to the Sugar Grove area to grow his family. Charles worked and retired from years of doing maintenance at Sysco in Jamestown, NY. He always stayed busy: whether it was farming, hunting raccoons with his dogs, collecting tractors, hunting, or riding 4-wheelers. Charles was always active and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.


Charles leaves behind his children, Amy (Steve) Hook of Ashville, NY, James (Stephanie) Bimber of Ashville, NY, Lisa (Wendell) Butler of Savannah, GA and Paul (Denise) Bimber of Sugar Grove, PA.; his brothers, David Bimber of Fairport, NY and Dene (Denise) Bimber of Surprise, AZ; his grandchildren, Nathan Stearns, Quincy Turner, Brody and Ryan Bimber, Jalynn, Nevaeh and Avery Bimber and Charles Butler as well as many nieces and nephews.


In addition to his parents and his wife, Nancy Bimber, he was preceded in death by his step-parents, Betty J. Wallace Bimber and Benjamin Swanson; a sister, Cynthia Becker and a brother, Larry Bimber.


Friends and family will be received on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 6:00-8:00pm, at the Nelson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 314 North Main St. Youngsville, PA 16371. A funeral service will be held there on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 11:00am, with the Rev. Richard Hamilton, officiating. Burial will take place at the Tuttle Hill Cemetery where full military honors will be provided by the Youngsville American Legion Honor Guard.
