Charles Thomas “Tom” Benner, 67, of Tidioute, PA., passed away at home, Saturday, December 11, 2021.
Tom was born June 5, 1954 to John Frederick “Fred” and Shirley Lewis Benner, in Warren, PA. After graduating from Tidioute High School, Tom joined the United States Air Force, being stationed in both Texas and Korea twice. Tom was an avid musician. He loved playing guitar and other instruments, as well as just listening to music. If he wasn’t doing that, he was enjoying his other passion, photography. He loved taking photos of the outdoors, local scenery and wildlife. Tom also loved to spend time fishing along the Allegheny and local waterways. He was a proud member of VFW Post 8803 and American Legion Post 0334 in Tidioute, PA.
Tom is survived by his brother John(Carol)Benner of Tidioute and his sister Kelly Benner of Tidioute; his nieces Erinn(Mike)Stemetzki of Alburtis, PA and Colette(Scott)Nelson of Youngsville, and many close friends he considered like family.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his brother David Benner and his niece Staecy Benner.
Visitation will be held at the Tidioute Fire Department at 228 Main St. Tidioute, Pa. on Monday December 20, 2021 from 11am till noon, at which time a memorial service will take place with the retired pastor, Rev. Ralph Culp, officiating.
Memorial donations in Tom’s name may be made to the Tidioute Vol Fire Dept, the Tidioute VFW or the Tidioute American Legion.
The Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Youngsville have been entrusted with all arrangements.
