Cindy "Raven" L. (Melton) Gregory

Cindy “Raven” Gregory, 60, of Chandlers Valley, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Warren General Hospital, after a short illness, surrounded by her family

Cindy was born September 23, 1965 in Galax, Virginia. Her mother was Frances (Wilcox) Black and her father, who raised her, was Terry Vass. Cindy enjoyed crocheting, gardening, just being outside and loved spending time with her family.  She will be missed by all that knew her.

Cindy is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Darrin “Hound” Gregory, whom she married February 16, 1985, her children, DeeAnna (Andy) Lindsey of Chandlers Valley, Darlean (Ken Lane) Gregory of Youngsville, Dustin Gregory of Chandlers Valley, two brothers, Shannon Melton and Ried Melton, both of Virginia and her grandchildren, Olivia, Henry and Jack.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Samuel “Peanut” Allen.

A celebration of life will be held at the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 314 North Main St in Youngsville on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 1pm.  Friends and family will be received one hour prior.

Burial will be private at the convenience of the family

Cindy was a kind and giving person. The family suggests in her memory, to do an act of kindness or to donate to a charity of your choice.
