Darrell Lee Daugharthy, 73, of Colonial Heights, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 29, 2022. Born on July 12, 1948, in Warren, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Alton Eugene and Ruth Marie Daugharthy. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Grant Daugharthy.
Darrell was a United States Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War as a Combat medic from 1968-1969. He retired from CSX Railroad as a locomotive engineer after dedicating 43 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #284 in Colonial Heights. Darrell also loved to sail, spend time in Ocracoke, North Carolina, and taking photos as an amateur photographer.
He is survived by his loving wife, Becky Daugharthy; three sons, Matthew Baker, Brian Baker (Brandi) and Lee Sedon; Two daughters, Wendy Hatcher (Pete) and Georgia Fogleman; grandchildren, Olivia Baker and Skyler Dixon; brothers, Norris Daugharthy (Helene) and Jim Daugharthy; sisters, Donna Daugharthy, Joan Wetmore, and Kay Newcomb; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, July 23rd, 2022, at the Otterbein United Methodist Church, Pittsfield, PA from 11:00am to 12:00pm, at which time a funeral service with full Military Honors will be held, with the Rev. Nate Fugate officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Russell, PA.
