Elaine M. Greenland, 78, of Pittsfield, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at Cleveland Clinic.

She was born on June 14, 1947, in Springville, NY, to the late George C. and Marion F.W Machmer. She worked at Warren General Hospital as a cook for 38 years. Elaine courageously fought a 6 month battle with CNS Lymphoma and an inoperable brain tumor. There wasn’t a craft or art project that she wouldn’t try to succeed at and enjoy. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, ceramics, fishing, camping and spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends and also was a lifetime Girls Scout. She was a woman of many talents. Up until recently, Elaine never missed an event her “kids” were involved in. There were many late nights filled with laughter and fun as her family and friends played board games and jig saw puzzles.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammy R. (Matthew Tower) Greenland of Pittsfield, her grandchildren, Samantha Wilson and John William Tower, her step-granddaughter, Holly Londo, 4 sister-in-laws, several nieces, nephews and cousins and her dog, Deacon, who loved to lay on her lap.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Greenland Jr. her brother, George Machmer, her step-daughter, Lisa Phelan, her step-granddaughter, Jillian as well as many beloved dogs.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, December 31st at the Otterbein Global Methodist Church, 258 Dalrymple Street, Pittsfield, PA 16340, from 10am-noon at which time a funeral service will be held there with the Rev. Jeff Canter, pastor, officiating. A private burial will follow in Warren County Memorial Park.
