Elizabeth A. “Biz” Olds, 93, of Sugar Grove, PA, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at UPMC Chautauqua.
She was born on March 13, 1930, in Meadville, PA, a daughter to the late Walter and Blanche (Doubet) Chisholm. After high school graduation, Biz attended Jamestown Business College and worked as a medical secretary for Hamot and Warren State Hospital, then as a secretary for the Warren County District Justice Suzanne Hodges’ office. Biz was an auxiliary member of the Lander VFD and United Methodist Church, and also drove school bus for many years. She enjoyed baking, cooking, canning and reading but most of all, she loved to gather with her family and friends. Biz and John raised their family on a beef farm which they enjoyed together for almost 70 years.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen (Thomas) Hanson of Warren, PA and Carol (Michael) Steppe of Keuka Park, NY; her grandchildren, Matt (Anna) Yeskey, Benjamin (Jody) Yeskey and Virginia Olds; her great-grandchildren, Dylan and Morgan Yeskey and Josh Sullivan and a few close relatives, Kim and Darin Brown. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of those who came into her home to make sure she was well taken care of.
In addition to her parents, Biz was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Olds; her son, Robert J. Olds; her siblings, Kathleen Heckman and Walter Chisholm.
A private graveside service was held at the Foster Cemetery in Lander, PA.
