Eunice L. Bish

Eunice Leigh Bish, 96, formerly of Youngsville, PA, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Grove Manor Nursing Home in Grove City, PA.

She was born in Brookville, PA, on July 15, 1927, the daughter of the late Henry & Georgia Swineford. Eunice was a 1945 graduate of Brookville High School. She was employed for 32 years with the State of Michigan, working at Ypsilanti State Hospital as an LPN. She had been retired for 38 years.

Eunice enjoyed traveling reading and quilting. She liked making quilts and eventually gave over 190 quilts away to relatives and friends. She attended the North Warren Presbyterian Church. Eunice belonged to the Order of Eastern Star in Michigan and the State Employee Retirement Association of Michigan.

She married Dale Ordale Bish, who preceded her in death on December 12, 2005. Eunice is survived by her niece, Denise Cederquist, with whom she shared her home at one time; two sisters, Shirley (Kay) Hall of Emlenton, PA and Jolene Critelli of Rochester, NY; her sister-in-law, Rose Swineford of Corsica, PA as well as many nieces, nephews & cousins.

In addition to her parents & husband, Eunice was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Swineford; her sister, Dolores (Perk) Oaks and her brothers in law, Harold Hall & Louis Critelli.

Friends will be received on Sunday, February 25, at the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 314 N. Main Street, Youngsville, PA 16371, from 3-5pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 26 at 11am with the Rev. Burfoot “Buddy” Ward, pastor of the North Warren Presbyterian Church, officiating. A private burial will be at the convenience of the family in Forest County, PA.
