Florence C. (Burket) Jackson

Florence C. Jackson, 100, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2022 at the Rouse Home in Youngsville, PA.

She was born on May 14, 1922, in Altoona, PA, a daughter to the late Chester H. and Catherine M. (Porta) Burket. Florence cleaned for the offices of JCPenney and was a very involved member of the Birmingham Congregational Church in Pittsburgh, PA. She was always knitting, sewing or crocheting and was a wonderful baker. Florence had a joy of baking cookies by the bushel for weddings.

She is survived by her daughters, Catharine (Carl) Hazeltine of Pittsfield, PA, Elizabeth “Libby” (George) Soltysik of Bath, NY and Anna Jackson and her companion, Ron Bents, of Virginia; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Jackson in 1999; a grandson, Joseph Soltysik; 4 brothers, George, Harold, John and Clyde; 2 sisters, Mary and Bess and 2 infant siblings, Clair and Faye.

A graveside service will be held on June 24th, 2023 at 2pm at Grandview Cemetery in Altoona, PA.
