Garnet L. Gorton Obituary

Garnet Lee Gorton, 89, of Pittsfield, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 11, 2025 at his home.


He was born in Warren, PA, on April 5, 1936, a son to the late Gilbert and Emma (Dyer) Gorton. Garnet was a truck driver for most of his life. He enjoyed mowing his lawn, working in his garage and hunting. He also loved spending time with his family, including his pugs, Gracie, Bella & Luna.


Garnet is survived by his wife of 58 years, Frances (Manno) Gorton, who he married on April 8, 1967 in Warren; his children, Debbie Gorton, Lisa Gorton of Youngsville, Lee (Jean) Gorton, of Warren and Josh Gorton of Wrightsville; his brother, Jay Gorton of Youngsville; his half brother, Harvey Gorton of Clarendon; his grandchildren, Camary, Michael, Travis, Nick, Connor and Kaileigh as well as 4 great-grandchildren.


In addition to his parents, Garnet was preceded in death by his siblings, Gibby, Bobby and Donna Chase.


A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
