George J. Rainier, 85, of Youngsville, PA passed away on Tuesday December 6, 2022, at the Rouse Warren County Home.

He was born on February 16, 1937 in Bloomsburg, PA, a son of the late Frank & Florence (Lupole) Rainier.  George was a US Marine Corps veteran.   He grew up working on family and local farms in the Bloomsburg area and drove truck for Dillion Floral in Bloomsburg.  He moved to Warren in 1965 where he worked for the city of Warren until he took a job at MRC Bearings in Falconer, NY until his retirement.  He enjoyed traveling with his family to TN, FL, MT, and the Bahamas.  He liked playing cards with family and friends and was an avid hunter and fisherman.  George was always busy with home projects, often found in his garden, garage, or work shed puttering or at a neighbor helping with anything he could.

He is survived by his daughters Karen (Mike) Madigan and Jodie (Wayne) Brown, both of Warren; a granddaughter Tiffany (Doug) Williams of Butler PA; a great-granddaughter Lana Williams; his siblings Joe (Connie) Rainier of Kempton, PA.  Ruth Long and Robert Rainier, both of Bloomsburg, PA and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his loving wife Shirley Frederick Rainier, his brothers Don, Norm, Dave and Dale and sisters Mary and Betty.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022 at the Evangelical United Methodist Church, 18 Second St., Youngsville, PA 16371 from 11-12 at which time a memorial service will be held there with the Rev. Jeff Canter, pastor, officiating.
