Gilbert Dean Scott

Gilbert Dean Scott, 76, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 23, 2022, in his home, surrounded by his loving family. 

He was born on May 13, 1945, and was a lifetime resident of Lottsville, PA.  He graduated from Youngsville High School in the class of 1963.  He then served in the United States Marine Corp for four years, including one year in Vietnam.  Gib was a member of the Lottsville United Methodist Church and the Youngsville American Legion Post 658, where he served with the honor guard.  

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sarah Sue Scott, their six children and sixteen grandchildren:  Andy and Lori Scott (Drew, Zack and Natalie) of Jefferson, GA; Jennifer and Troy Moore (Caeden, Maryn and Brennan) of Lake Wylie, SC; Rachel Scott (Bryson and Cole) of Roanoke Rapids, NC; Lucas and Erin Scott (Addison, Ayla, Avery, and Emmett) of Vail, AZ; Mark and Johanna Scott (Cassidy and Seneca) of Rixeyville, VA; Sarah and Tony Ventresco (Anthony and Dempsey) of Bealeton, VA.  He is also survived by a sister, Carol (Gary) Gundlach of Davenport, NY and a brother, Alan (Lois) Scott of Lottsville, PA. 

He was preceded in death by parents Robert and Madge Scott of Lottsville, PA; his father and mother-in-law, Hubert and Mary Sherwood of Youngsville, PA and sister-in-law Peg Wise of Edinboro, PA.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, May 1st, 2022 from 4:00-8:00pm at the Lottsville United Methodist Church, Lottsville, PA., where a funeral service will be held on Monday, May 2, 2022, at 11:00am, with the Rev. Sheila Auer, Pastor, officiating.
