Gilbert E. Trask Obituary

Gilbert “Pete” Trask, 90, of Youngsville, PA, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025 at the Rouse Warren Co Home.


He was born in Warren, PA on November 5, 1934, a son to the late Elmer and Samuella (White) Trask. He served in the US Army and then worked at the National Forge for 35 years as a mechanical test engineer.  He was a member of the Youngsville American Legion Post 658. Pete enjoyed making muzzleloader’s, fishing, hunting, woodworking, cooking and baking.


Pete is survived by his wife, Wilma Hodges Trask, his children, Robert (Karen) Trask of Erie, Sandra Jones of Youngsville, Ronald (Kathy) Trask of sugar Grove, Shelia (Adam) Ohmer of Erie, Ryan (Kristen) Trask of New Castle, his siblings, Clara (Timothy) Olson of Warren, Phylis (Larry) Wolfe of Pittsfield, Herbert (Jo) Trask of Milwaukee and Murray Trask of Youngsville, PA; 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.


In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by a son, Ross Trask, a sister, Susan Trask Jones and a brother, Michael Trask.


A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday August 16, 2025 at 11am at Warren Co. Memorial Park with Rev. Jeff Canter, pastor of the New Life Church in Youngsville, officiating. The Youngsville American Legion Honor Guard will provide full military honors.
