Harry L. Wertz, 83, of Cole Hill, Pittsfield, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2022, at his home.
He was born February 14, 1939, in Tionesta, Pa, to the late Lawrence and Lila Brigham Wertz. After high school, Harry enlisted in the United States Army, serving until 1964. After the Army, Harry worked as a laborer at the National Forge in Irvine. Harry loved hunting and fishing, and spending time outdoors and spending time with his family.
Harry is survived by his children Harry(Kai)Wertz of Warren, John Wertz and Donnalan “Punk” Wertz of Pittsfield; grandchildren Aubrey Wertz, Linnea Wertz; daughter-in-law Terri Wertz Shaw and his trusted dog, Lazy.
In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his wife Jacqueline Wertz in 2010, a son James Wertz, and his sisters Betty Eastman, Sally Wertz, Clara Jane Wertz.
Per Harry’s request, no services will be held, and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. A celebration of Harry’s life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Warren County, 1 Main Ave, Warren, Pa., 16365 or the Garland Fire Dept. PO Box 101, Bailey Lane, Garland, Pa. 16416.
