James S. Braswell Obituary


James Stanley “Stan” Braswell, 79, of Spartansburg, Pa, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at his home with his family by his side.



He was born on September 7, 1943 in French Camp, MS, a son to the late James D. And Eloise (Stanford) Braswell. Stan worked for McInnes Steel for 34 years as a manipulator operator. He also worked at Ajax, Corry Rubber and the State Hospital in N. Warren for some time. Throughout his life, Stan enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and small hobby faming with cows and pigs. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.



He is survived by his loving wife of more than 60 years, JoAnn (Stufflebeam) Braswell; his children, Thomas James Braswell and his wife, Pat, of Corry, Pa, Terri Jean Novakovich and her companion, Jeff Powell and Todd John Braswell, both of Spartansburg, Pa; his brothers, Randy Braswell and his companion, Sue, of Corry, Pa, Bobby Braswell and his wife, Betty, of Elgin, Pa and Billy Joe Braswell and his wife, Sherry, of Clymer, NY; 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and his special fur babies.



In addition to his parents, Stan was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Jo Drake and his granddaughter, Hope Kay Master.



Per Stan’s wishes, no services will be held. Burial in the Sanford Cemetery will take place at a later date.
