James “Jim” D. Christian Jr. 69, of Pittsfield, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2022, at Meadville Medical Center, Meadville, PA.
Jim was born on October 20, 1952, in Birmingham, AL, a son to the late James D. and Bervina M. Christian Sr. He worked many years as a laborer at the National Forge in Irvine. Jim enjoyed watching Alabama State college football and was an avid ocean fisherman. He was a member of the V.F.W. in Titusville and the Sugar Grove American Legion. The family would like to send sincere appreciation and thanks to the first responders at the Garland Fire Dept.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Cindy Christian; his two sons, James D. Christian III and Shannon Switzer; his daughters, Carrie (Scott) Skimore and Cassie Nichols; his grandchildren, Kayla, Emily, Carter, Scotty, Tristan, Aubrie and Braydan; two great grandchildren, Brooks and Naomi; a brother, Mike (Ruth) Christian of AL and a sister, Kathy Waller of Florida.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Thomas.
A memorial service will be held and announced at a later date.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Garland Volunteer Fire Dept., 31 Bailey Lane, Garland, Pa., 16416.
