James R. Jameson, 78, of Youngsville, PA, passed away on October 15, 2023 at Kinzua Healthcare in Warren, PA.
He was born on April 12, 1945, in New Castle, PA, a son to the late Robert and Ruth (Edie) Jameson. In 1956 his family moved to Erie and eventually to Youngsville where he spent the rest of his life.
Jim graduated from Youngsville High School in 1963 and then enlisted in the US Army on Sept.1, 1965 and was honorably discharged on August 15, 1967. He then went to work at Osram Sylvania for 39 1/2 years, retiring in 2008. He was an active member of the Youngsville Fire Dept. for 53 years, serving in many capacities, including an officer for many years. He was also a member of the Youngsville American Legion Post 658 where he held office of the Commander from 2016-2023 as well as a member of the Honor Guard.
Left behind to cherish in his memory are is his loving wife of 55 years, Becky; his two sons, Ron (Pam) and Pat (Billie), both of Youngsville; his daughter, Jenn of Olean, NY; his grandchildren, Samantha (Chad) Saylor of Las Vegas, NV, Shane (Emily) of Warren, Jessica and her companion, Christopher Johnson, of Pittsburgh, Julie of Denver, CO, Logan and Emma, both of Youngsville; his great-grandson, Liam James; his siblings, Dorothy Dutcher of FL and Don Jameson of CA as well as many nieces, nephews and other family members.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sisters, Katherine Bruner and Jean Jameson.
Visitation will be held in Wednesday, October 18, at the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 314 N. Main St, Youngsville, PA 16371, from 4-7pm. A funeral service will be held there on Thursday, October 19 at 11am with the Rev. Rick Hamrick, pastor of the Youngsville Free Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Warren County Memorial Park. The Youngsville Honor Guard will provide full military honors.
