Jerry A. Westover

Jerry Westover, 90, of Youngsville, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 27, 2023 at the John and Orpha Blair Hospice House in Warren.

Jerry was born March 22, 1933, in Westover, PA, to the late Allen and Helen (Fry) Westover. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Jerry graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with his teaching degree and taught math at Youngsville HS for 25 years. He was a member of the Youngsville American Legion where he served on the Honor Guard, a member of St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church in Youngsville, and a member of the PA State Teachers Association. Jerry loved spending his time in the woods hunting and time on the water fishing. His greatest treasure was his grandchildren.

He married the love of his life, Lois Westover, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Hastings, PA on October 22, 1955, whom preceded him in death on November 30, 2021.  He is survived by a son, Jay (Erin) Westover of Riverside CA; his grandchildren, Mackenzie, Katie and Jacob; a sister, Myra Lindstrom of Akron, OH and his nieces and nephews, Greg, Kristen, Diane, Scott, Brittany, Brandi, and Lexi.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date that will be announced.

Burial will be in Westover, PA.

The family suggests memorial donations be made to St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church, 420 North Main St, Youngsville, PA 16371 or to Masses in memory of Jerry.
