John Nickolas Bosko, 75, of Warren, Pa, passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at the John and Orpha Blair Hospice House, in Warren, surrounded by family.
He was born in Warren, Pa, on September 24, 1946. John graduated from Youngsville High School and went on to Penn State Behrend to become a design engineer. He worked at Struthers Wells in Warren, Pa until his retirement. In addition, John served in the United States Navy and Naval Reserves, 2 years active duty from 1968-1970.
His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends at his camp in Tidioute, Pa. He loved hunting season and all its festivities. He also love spending time with his daughter and grandkids in South Carolina. John had a special bond with his grandkids, always teaching them about hunting and fishing, and of course making them laugh and spending quality time.
John was a member of the Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church in Warren, Pa along with being a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Stec Bosko who passed in 2018. Together they enjoyed life, spending time with mutual friends, family and traveling to South Carolina. They celebrated 50 years of marriage before Mary passed. In addition to his wife, John was preceded in death by his parents, Elsie Bosko and Adam Bosko, and a nephew C.J. Bosko.
John is survived by his daughter, Julie Lynn Cox of Simpsonville, SC, 2 grandchildren, Claire Madelyn Cox and Samuel Cary Cox; three siblings, Russell (Kaye) Bosko of Eustis, FL; Dennis (Patty) Bosko of Phoenix, AZ; Phillip (Judy) Bosko of Youngsville, PA. John is further survived by many beloved nieces, nephews and long cherished friends who were always supportive of his cancer battle.
Friends will be received from 10-11am on Saturday, December 11, 2021, in the gathering space at Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, 11 Russell St. Warren, Pa 16365, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am with the Rev. Fr. Stephen Schreiber, pastor, serving as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, where full military honors will be observed.
