Kimberly (Sorenson) Chuzie Obituary

Kimberly Chuzie, 56, of Youngsville, passed away on Thursday, April 16th, 2026, at home following an extended illness, surrounded by her family.


She was born on May 1,1969, in Erie, PA, to Patricia (Hanlon) Sorenson and the late Norman Sorenson. After graduating high school, she joined the United States Navy. After serving, she went on to Gannon University earning a degree as an  ultrasound/X-ray technician. She also worked at Great Lakes as an instructor. She began her career at WCA in Jamestown and the Warren General Hospital  and Corry Hospital. Kim loved being outside, whether it was working with her flowers in her garden, hiking, spending time at the beach, or with her dogs. Her family and her faith in god were very important to her. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Kim was a member of the Youngsville American Legion Auxiliary and the Youngsville Free Methodist Church.


Kim is survived by her loving husband, Gary, whom she married on November 16th, 1991; her mother, Patricia (Hanlon) Sorenson; her 3 children, Billy (Allison) Chuzie of Warren, Katie (Josh) Lewis of New Castle, and Joseph Chuzie of Youngsville; her sister, Ingrid (Cliff) Adams of Youngsville; her grandchildren, Jayce, Peyton, River, Archer, Aria, and Meadow; and her dogs, Gracie, Saige, and Boscoe.


She was preceded in death by her father, Norman Sorenson, in March of 2020.


Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, April 21st, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the Youngsville Free Methodist Church, 179 Davis St. Youngsville, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 22nd at 11:00am, with Pastor Rick Hamrick, officiating. Burial will follow in Weiler Cemetery.


Memorial donations may be made in Kim’s name to the Youngsville Free Methodist Church, 179 Davis St., Youngsville, PA 16371.
