Laurence Stoddard, 62, of Youngsville, passed away suddenly Thursday, November 14, 2024, in Warren.  

Larry was born on July 22, 1962 in Denison, Texas to Vern Stoddard and the late Laura Fredrick Stoddard. A Pittsburgh sports fan through and through, the Pirates were his favorite. He was a youth baseball and basketball coach, loved skiing and snowmobiling, and playing golf, in which he had a hole-in-one. He was a member of the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club, the Youngsville American Legion Post 658, and was a volunteer fireman and EMT for the Starbrick Fire Dept., and the Clarendon Fire Dept. But his most cherished thing was being called “Poppy” by his grandchildren, which he adored. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Laura Stoddard. 

Larry is survived by his wife, Alyson Stoddard, whom he married on April 16, 1999; children, Dru (Shelly) Freeborough of Sugar Grove and Dane (Shayla) Freeborough of Sugar Grove; sister, Carrie (Bill) Gardner of Clarendon; brother, Jeff (Kelly) Stoddard of Sheffield; grandchildren, Dak and Aria Freeborough, Cole and Cade Freeborough; along with many nieces and nephews. 

Friends and family will be received on Thursday, November 21st, 2024, from 3-5pm at the Youngsville Free Methodist Church, 179 Davis St. Youngsville, PA 16371, at which time a memorial service will be held there with Pastor Rick Hamrick, officiating.  

Memorial donations may be made in Larry’s name to the Starbrick Volunteer Fire Dept. 5 Firemans St. Warren, PA 16365.
