Leonard E. Kesterholt, 93, of Corry, PA and formerly of Youngsville, PA, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie, PA.
He was born on March 18, 1929, in Hazen, PA, a son to the late Ellis and Florence (Lindemuth) Kesterholt. Leonard owned and operated Richards Restaurant in Youngsville for many years and continued to work there for his son, Jim, when he owned it. He was also an over the road truck driver for 14 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and bowling.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jacqueline (Mack) Kesterholt; his children, Kathy (Joseph) DeSio, Mark (Elaine) Kesterholt, Crystal (Larry) Grimone, Cynthia (Nord) Huling, Sandra (Vernon) Stroup, Richard Kesterholt and James (Kathy) Kesterholt, a sister, Margarat “Peggy” Smith; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and his dog, Benji.
In addition to his parents, Leonard was preceded in death by his siblings, Violet Reynolds, Arlene Shaffer, June Neil, Richard Kesterholt, Kenneth Lockwood, Donald Kesterholt and Marilyn Kesterholt Crawford.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, February 14th, at the Youngsville Free Methodist Church, 179 Davis Street, Youngsville, PA 16371, from 5-7pm. A funeral service will be there on Wednesday, February 15th at noon with 1 hour of visitation prior. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial donations be made to the Youngsville Free Methodist Church or to Shriners Children’s Hospital, 1645 W. 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
