She established a nursery business on the family farm called Siloview Gardens, which she truly loved. She specialized in perennials, wildflowers, and pond plants. In 2000, she moved to the Rowley Road and enlarged her nursery business. But her injuries forced hew quit in 2010. She always enjoyed sharing the bounty of the earth; peaches, pears, and posies.

Martie still tried to leave the planet earth better than she found it. She greatly enjoyed making flower arrangements, especially loud and lavish ones! It might take her several trips to the garden and hours to make a sensational bouquet, and when it was finally done, her heart was happy!

Martie love art, especially local artists. On the walls of her home were hundreds of art pieces. She enjoyed sharing and telling her stories. She created art in flowers, birdhouses, wreaths, copper, and yardsticks. She had an active and creative mind, and was the family historian.

After 11 am, friends found her door open, welcoming, and a pot of coffee was soon brewing. Martie was well versed in a variety of subjects: local history, gardening, birds, music, and so much more!

She loved coffee, Janis Joplin and Bob Dylan, glitter, the stars, water, chocolate, yard sales, antiques, and her family and friends. She was a friend of the earth…..LET IT SHINE!! Oh, and she enjoyed cannabis. Rock on sister!
