Mary (Black) Meley

Mary Black Beardsley Meley, 84, of Youngsville, PA, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2023 at her home.

She was born in Kane, PA on January 26, 1938, a daughter to the late Lester and Mary (Taydus) Black. Mary was raised in the Youngsville area all her life and was a graduate of Youngsville High School. She had miscellaneous jobs through the years, lastly at Rexnord Corp. Mary enjoyed reading, golfing, the outdoors, traveling, camping, kayaking and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Kim (Kevin) Childs and Frederick (Suanne) Beardsley, both of Youngsville, PA, her step-children, Tim (Pam) Meley of Warren, PA, Caprece (Troy) McDunn of Warren, PA and Holly (Randy) Zydonik of NC; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; her sisters, Rose Theuret of Youngsville, PA and Nancy Theuret of Garland, PA; a brother, Patrick (Sue) Black of Russell, PA and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Gayle Meley who died Oct. 24, 2014; a grandson, Justin May; her half-brothers, Homer, Neil, Jim and Daniel Black; her half-sisters, Fay Tressler, Ella Jane Graham, Donna Graham and Bernice Flasher and her brother’s-in-law, Chuck and Clare Theuret.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 27 at the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 314 N. Main St., Youngsville, PA 16371, from 11am-noon at which time a funeral service will be held there. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
