Max M. Smith, 87, of Pittsfield, PA, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at the Rouse Warren County Home.
He was born on August 21, 1936, at home, in Pittsfield, a son to the late John and Pearl Smith. Max worked at the National Forge for at least 40 years. He was the Pittsfield Twp supervisor for many years and always enjoyed volunteering at the Warren County Fair as well as throughout the community. Max was a worker and he enjoyed always having something to do. Whether he was mowing, farming or just working to get something done, he was always busy.
Max is survived by his wife, Janet M. Smith of Pittsfield; his daughters, Annette Smith of Edinboro, Colleen (Michael) Delycure of Cambridge Springs and Rebecca (Rod) Reese of Sugar Grove; his son, Charles Smith of Pittsfield; his grandchildren, Katie Penley, Mandy Wallace, Jacob Delycure, Hannah (Doug) McCormick, Nate (Noelle) Delycure, Adam (Andrea) Reese and Isaac Reese; his great-grandchildren, Harper, Roland, Raina and Archie and his sister, Mary Lou (Paul) Ransom of Erie.
In addition to his parents, Max was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Erin Reese and his siblings, Billy, Don, Royce, Joyce, Mark and Martha.
A private graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Pittsfield.
