Melissa “Pooh” May, 45, of Youngsville, PA passed away unexpectedly on Saturday morning, December 31, 2022. 

She was born on June 27, 1977 to Cathy A. (Thom) Westfall, who survives her of Youngsville.  Pooh worked at the Corry Post Office as a clerk for many years. She enjoyed going to concerts, kayaking down the river and getting tattoos, but, most of all, she loved being with her daughters and grandsons. She also enjoyed the time she spent with Josh building a house on the hill and was a wonderful cook. More often than not, Pooh could be found with her partner in crime and sister, ShaShawn, always up to their shenanigans. 

In addition to her mother, Pooh is survived by her companion, Joshua Miles, of Youngsville; her former husband, Jason May, of Youngsville; 3 daughters, Sierra Anderson and her companion, Aubrey Wertz, of Warren, Arreanna Anderson of Tidioute and Haven May of Youngsville; 2 grandsons, James Greek and Brantley Steven; her sister, ShaShawn Maze and her husband, Brian, of Youngsville; her step-sisters, Cindy Pratt and Judy Thom; a nephew, Dalton Maze; a niece Kearston Maze; her best friend, Ashley Bosko and her dogs, Sam and Jack.

Pooh was preceded in death by her father, Richard Perrin.

Family and friends are invited for visitation on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 5-7pm at the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 314 N. Main Street, Youngsville, PA 16371. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Pooh was an organ donor and in honor of her memory, the family suggest memorial donations be made to the Center for Organ Recovery and Education (CORE), 204 Sigma Dr. Pittsburgh, PA 15238 or online at www.core.org.
