Patricia E. McChesney, 84, of Youngsville, passed away on October 21, 2025 at UPMC Chautauqua. Patty had been a resident at The Magnolia in Frewsburg, NY since January of this year.
Patty was born on February 14, 1941 in Warren, PA to the late Kenneth and Marian Fox. After staying home to raise her family, she worked at Blair in the Returns Department, from where she retired.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard “Dick” McChesney, whom she married on July 30, 1965 in Falconer, NY and who passed away on December 22, 2024. These last 10 months, she was lost without him.
She is survived by her three sons, Timothy (Stephanie) McChesney of Russell, Michael McChesney of Youngsville, and Eric (Lori) McChesney of Warren, her grandchildren, Emily, Jake, Cade, Adam, Dillion, Callie, and Grace, and her great granddaughter, Ellie.
She was an incredibly kind woman who had a way of making everyone feel welcome. She could talk to anyone as if they had been friends for years. She devoted her time to her family, was an avid reader, and loved to shop. When her mother was alive, they were inseparable. She was known for her no-bake cookies and could usually be found in her kitchen with her apron on.
She was a loving and devoted wife for almost 60 years, caring and involved mom, wonderful and fun loving grandma, and an adoring great-grandma. She will be greatly missed.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Youngsville Public Library, 100 Broad St., Youngsville, PA 16371.
The Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, in Youngsville, has been entrusted with all arrangements. Condolences to the family may be made at nelsonfuneralhome.net.
