Paul Eugene Hannold, 97, of Youngsville, PA, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather went to be with our Lord on Thursday June 16th. Paul was born June 29, 1924 in Tiona, PA to Arnold and Fannie Anthony Hannold. He served in the military from 1942 - 1946 during World War II in the South Pacific Theater, 708 amphibious tank battalion, 19th armored group invading the Marshall Islands, Siapan, Philippines, Okinawa, and many other islands.
He retired from the National Forge, Irvine, PA. He was a member of the Youngsville Evangelical United Methodist Church, the BIC Sunday school class, and the American Legion. Paul loved all sports, especially golf, and football. He enjoyed camping with the Kinzua Campers and National Campers and Hikers for 45 years. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved volunteering at the Rouse Home pushing people to church each Sunday.
Surviving are his wife Dorothy Reed Hannold whom he married 76 years ago on June 8, 1946 in the Pittsfield Methodist Church. He is survived by two sons Gary Hannold (wife Susan) of Warren, PA and Mark Hannold (wife Roberta) of Kennerdell, PA, six grandchildren: Kristen, Matthew, and Heather Jones, Jonathon and Terry Hannold, and Jacklyn Otey; seven great grandchildren: Austin and Addison Hannold, Constance, Kathlyn and Dominic Otey, Caz Hannold, Richard Hannold; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers Leason, Keith, David and Elwood, four sisters Olive Marshall, Vivian Mead, Gladys Hannold; an infant sister Anna Hannold.
Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at the Youngsville Evangelical United Methodist Church at 10 am until 11:30 am at which time a funeral service will be held there with the Rev. Jeff Cantor, pastor, officiating Burial will be at Warren County Memorial Park with full military honors conducted by the American Legion.
