Richard F. Pilling, 82, of Sugar Grove, PA., passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at home surrounded by family.
Richard was born on June 11, 1940 in Youngsville, PA., to the late Henry and Violet Strickland Pilling. After graduation from Youngsville High School, he served in the United States Navy. Upon his discharge, Richard went on to work at National Forge Company for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time hunting and fishing. Richard was a member of the Youngsville American Legion Post 658 and the Sugar Grove AMVETS. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Linda, whom he married on October 4, 1969; his 3 children, Thomas (Jane) Pilling of Lakewood, NY, Mark Pilling of Sugar Grove and Stacey Pilling of Fairfax, VA.; his siblings, Dave (Cindy) Pilling of Lander, PA, Judy Lewis of Youngsville and Denny “Jake” Pilling of Pittsfield; 3 grandchildren, Brenna (Brooks) Duncan, Jake (Shaunah) Pilling and Joshua Pilling and 3 great granddaughters.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brothers, Gene Pilling and Bob Pilling.
