Robert L. Nelson Obituary

Robert L. Nelson, 75, of Warren, PA, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at the Warren Manor following many years of struggling with dementia and Parkinson’s.


He was born in Warren, PA on August 10, 1948, to the late Gunnard Norman Nelson and Mary Frantz Carlson. Bob was in the class of 1966 at Warren Area High School. He enlisted in the United States Army in June of 1966 and was honorable discharged in June of 1969.


On February 16, 1980, Bob married Sandra A. Host. They designed their own home and Bob, family and friends constructed one of the last Ridge Homes on Hemlock Road in 1981. Later on, he became a salesman for Means Lumber, Regal Lumber and Oneida Lumber retiring in 2010. Bob “Bucky”, enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, listening to Pink Floyd, and was known for his one liners which always brought a smile to everyone’s face.


He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sandra A. Nelson; one child, Carrie E. Nelson of Allison Park, PA; his siblings, Judith Crothers, Valerie (John) Schultz and John Scott (Diane) Nelson; his sister-in-law, Lisa Nelson and several nieces and nephews.


In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Terry Nelson.


Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. A memorial will be held at a later date.
