Samuel Joe Hendrickson, “Sam”, 30, of Mickel Hill Rd, Spring Creek, passed away unexpectedly Thursday May 19, 2022 due to complications from pneumonia.
Sam was born July 26, 1991 in Warren, PA., to the late Eric Hendrickson and Patches Hendrickson.
Sam graduated from Youngsville High School in 2009. He enjoyed bowling at the Youngsville Bowling Alley, since the 2nd grade, and golfing with Jeremy at the Spring Creek Golf Course every chance he could. Sam enjoyed playing video games, playing basketball and spending time with his cousins.
He is a graduate of Penn State Behrend, class of 2014. Sam was an avid poker player who always looked forward to Monday nights with the crew. He loved everything about comedy and sarcasm was his first language. Sam could always put a smile on everyone’s face. He loved life, even after his accident. He had 2 birthdays, his birth day and his chair birth day. Sam loved spending time with his family, having get togethers on the family farm and throwing himself birthday parties.He was a member of American Legion Post 658 in Youngsville. Sam was such a gentle spirit and was at ease making friends every where he went. Even after his accident, Sam made friends all over the world through the gaming community.
In addition to his mother, Sam is survived by his step father Michael R. Smith; siblings, Jeremy Hendrickson of Spring Creek, Taylor Walters, Ethan Hendrickson Aden Hendrickson and Kennedy Walters, all of Youngsville, his maternal grandparents Larry and Connie Upton of Spring Creek and Paternal grand parents Dean and Lisa Hendrickson of Warren; Maternal great grandfather Seymour and Millie Upton of Spring Creek; and Kristin(Matt)Fehlman, his second mom; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to his father, Sam was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Sandy Ostrander; Great grandparents Frank and Mary Wickwire, great grandmother Lucy Upton; and a cousin Logan Morrison.
Friends and family will be received on Tuesday May 24th from 3-7pm at the Youngsville Free Methodist Church ,179 Davis St. in Youngsville at which time a funeral service will be held there at 7pm with the. Rev. Rick Hamrick, pastor, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to The Shepherd Center, a not for profit hospital where Sam went for his rehabilitation after his accident, at Give.Shepherd.org. Condolences to the family may be made at www.nelsonfuneralhome.net.
