Susan Griffin Obituary

Susan D. Griffin, 63, of Youngsville, Pa, passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021, at Warren General Hospital.

She was born on February 22, 1958, to James A. Black and Marguerite Leichtenberger in Warren. She was a graduate of Youngsville High School in 1976. After 37 years, Susan retired from the Warren State Hospital in 2014.

Susan was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed crocheting a variety of gifts for family and friends, being surrounded by her grandchildren, evenings out with her family at the Bucket, and spending sunny days on the porch overlooking the crick. She was a strong believer in God and a very active member of the Youngsville Free Methodist Church. Susan was also a member of the Lioness Club.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years Raymond Griffin, whom she married on Sept. 6, 1980, in Warren; her children Tammy (Matt) Hennessy of Cherry Grove, Matt (Rachel) Griffin of Waterford; her siblings Jean Benedict of Torpedo, Jenny Hornstrom of Pleasantville, Carl (Kathy) Black of Sugar Grove, Molly (Frank) Hodges of Chandlers Valley; her sister-in-law, Candy Black of Irvine; her grandchildren, Kynslee, Kaesyn, James and Wyatt and several nieces and nephews.
Susan was preceded in death by her father, James Black, and brother, Daniel Black.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations may be made to the Youngsville Free Methodist Church, 179 Davis St. Youngsville, Pa. 16371.
