Willard Eugene Battko, known by all as Gene, 58, of Youngsville, passed away July 16, 2022. Gene was born September 17, 1963 in Warren, PA to Judy and Victor Battko Sr.

As a second-generation welder, Gene’s strong work ethic revolved around mechanical and automotive professions. He was everyone’s go-to for advice in those areas. Gene was an avid hunter, fisherman, and motorcycle enthusiast. He thrilled crowds driving in the Warren County fair’s stockcar football and demolition derby. He most preferred spending time with family and close friends at the Battko family campsite. He was best known for his blunt sense of humor, good nature, and endless generosity. Gene would take the shirt off his back to help a stranger in need and positively impacted the lives of countless friends and family. He made the love and pride he had for his children and grandchildren well-known. His absence is felt heavily and his memories live on through his loved ones.

Gene was survived by his siblings, Victor Jr., Julie, Bill, and Tammy, his children, Michael, Patrick (Alisha), Kaleena (Bill), and Steven, and his grandchildren, Trenton, Corbin, Brysten, Sylvia, and Laila. Services will be held July 20, 2022 4-7PM at Nelson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 314 North Main St. Youngsville, PA. Gene’s wish was for his family and friends to celebrate his life at the family’s campsite which will be held Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 1PM at 4060 Davey Hill Road, Pittsfield, PA 16440 rain or shine.
