James F. Rose, 80, of Youngsville, passed away Tuesday December 12, 2017 at the Rouse Warren Co, Home.

Jim was born February 12, 1937 in Warren, a son to the late James T. and Elsie (Cowher) Rose. Jim was a veteran of the US Air Force. He had worked for 37 years at the Blair Corp as a traffic manager, retiring from there in 1994. He was a member of the Saron Lutheran Church in Youngsville where he sang in the choir. He also was a long time member of the Youngsville Men’s Golf League at Maplehurst C.C. He also enjoyed bowling for a number of years.  In his early years, Jim was very active in the Upper Allegheny Hot Stove Baseball League, where he coached, umpired and served as commissioner for a number of years. Jim and his wife enjoyed wintering at their place in Titusville, Fla. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and attending their many events.

Jim is survived by his children, Rob (Julie) Rose of Alexandria, KY, Scott (Kris) Rose and Bob (Lisa) Rose, both of Youngsville, and Michael (Korena) Rose of Warren, his grandchildren, Amanda (Shawn) Foster, Alison (Grant) Allen, Andrea (Adam) Gnessin, Karissa (Nic) McKinney, DJ Rose, Katie Rose, Susie Rose, James Davis, Casey Davis, Christian Davis and great grandchildren, Elias, Averi, Evelyn, Lilly and Maverick.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Sharron Rose, on May 19 of this year, and a sister Nancy Rose.

Friends will be received on Saturday from 11-1pm at the Saron Lutheran Church in Youngsville, at which time a memorial service will be held with the Rev. Nancy Schwanke officiating.  Burial will be in Warren Co. Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations may be made to the Friends of the Rouse, 701 Rouse Ave. Youngsville Pa. 16371 or to Hospice of Warren Co. P.O. Box 68 Warren, Pa. 16365.

Heaven truly gained two angels this year. Jim and Sharron were two of, if not the, most selfless and sweet people I’ve ever met. My grandmother, Maggie Bunce (she passed away in 2010) and as a single mother of 3 boys Jim always had time to help my grandmother with anything around the house, her car, or with my uncles which as an adult that means the absolute world to me. I didn’t move to Youngsville until 7th grade and until then I used to stay with my grandmother during the summer and always looked forward to playing with the Rose boys as they were built from the same character as their parents.

While I send the most sincere condolences to the family; I am happy he gets to join his beloved Sharron.

To all the Rose families,
What a sweet man who always had a smile and a story to tell. My fondest memories of Jim were when he would come to our house at Christmas time and instill the belief in Santa just a little bit longer in our boys. To this day they probably don't know it was him...maybe I will tell them now. ;). So glad I got to give him a hug at the Rouse a few weeks ago. We are all lucky to have another very special angel watching over us. Sympathies, prayers and hugs to all.
